Google unveiled its new smartwatch Pixel Watch 2 at the Made by Google event. The second model in the series promises major upgrades in key features such as fitness tracking, battery life and integration with Google apps. It’s also more affordable than the Watch Series 9.
Google Pixel Watch 2 specs and price
The Pixel Watch 2 stands out with its health and fitness features. It has much more advanced sensors for heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring. It also has the cEDA sensor and skin temperature sensors found in Fitbit watches to help measure stress levels.
Google said it has also improved battery life. It claimed that the Pixel Watch 2 has a 306mAh battery that can last all day, even with Always on Display on. This represents a significant increase over the first model, which struggled to last half a day. Google also reported that it reached 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.
Pixel Watch 2 is also getting stronger in terms of hardware. Powered by 2GB RAM and Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 chipset, the smartwatch will offer Google Meet and Gmail integration on the watch face.
We see that Google has not changed the design. The Pixel Watch 2 features a 41 mm display and 12.3 mm thickness, similar to the first model.
Starting at $349, the Pixel Watch 2 is now available for pre-order in the US and will hit the shelves starting next week. However, let us remind you that it is unlikely to come to our country.
